WARNING - Shoaled Conditions at the Harbor Entrance
WARNING - SHOALED CONDITIONS AT THE HARBOR ENTRANCE
Shallow conditions exist in the entrance channel. The channel is currently narrowed by shoaling that has formed along the western side of the harbor mouth. Breaking surf is expected to occur during certain tide and swell conditions.
Despite a recent equipment failure onboard the District’s dredge, Twin Lakes, the dredge crew continues to work diligently to address the influx of sand and maintain depth in the entrance.
Prior to transiting the entrance, boaters are advised to check the harbor’s website for the latest sounding, be knowledgeable about swell and tide conditions at the time of voyage, and know their vessel’s draft.
Please call the Santa Cruz Harbor office for the latest conditions at (831) 475-6161.
