National Sailing Hall of Fame to Induct Bill Lee

The Port District would like to congratulate long-time slip renter, yacht builder, and sailing legend, Bill Lee on his upcoming induction into the National Sailing Hall of Fame. In total, 13 inductees will be honored in-person at the 2022 Sailing Hall of Fame Induction Weekend in November in Newport, Rhode Island.

Bill is being recognized for his extraordinary contributions to the world of sailing as a designer, builder, sailor, and custodian of the sport. He also likes to go fast…"Fast is Fun!”

In addition to building innovative record-setting yachts, Bill has played an integral role in shaping the harbor by serving as a Port Commissioner from 1983-1995, and again from 2004-2016.

We are thrilled to share in this momentous occasion. Congratulations, Bill!
